Christoph Graber, Partner, Prager Dreifuss

Dr Christoph K Graber, born 1961, studied law at the University of Berne, where he was admitted to the Bar in 1987. Thereafter, he worked in a major Swiss bank and simultaneously obtained his doctorate in law (PhD). He has been in private practice since 1990, during which time he also worked in a big law firm in the City of London, where he acquainted himself with the London insurance market. Since 2000 he has been a partner with Prager Dreifuss, which is one of the larger law firms in Switzerland, with offices in Zurich and Berne.

Christoph Graber's areas of concentration are insurance and reinsurance law, litigation and arbitration. He is co-author of the major academic annotation of the Swiss Federal Act on the Insurance Contract, and author or co-author of various essays in the field of Swiss insurance and reinsurance law. He is a member of various professional organisations, including the Zurich, the Swiss and the International Bar Association, the Swiss Association for Insurance Law, the British Insurance Law Association and the Swiss Arbitration Association. His professional languages are German, English and French.

Christoph Graber has been involved in many insurance or reinsurance investigations and disputes (litigation and arbitration) in connection with professional indemnity and D&O liability, losses under Bankers Blanket Bonds and fidelity bonds, product liability, maritime and air freight losses. He has been acting as counsel for major Swiss and foreign insurance and reinsurance companies, including various underwriters at Lloyd's. He has also been repeatedly consulted in connection with the drafting of insurance policies and with regulatory matters.
