Dr Oliver Sieg, Partner, Nörr Stiefenhofer Lutz

Dr Oliver Sieg has been a partner of Nörr Stiefenhofer Lutz since 2002. Nörr Stiefenhofer Lutz is one of the leading German independent law firms that offer a full range of legal and tax services. Oliver Sieg heads the firm's insurance practice group and co-heads the firm's dispute resolution practice group.

Oliver Sieg graduated in 1990. After the legal traineeship including internships with law firms in Paris and London, Oliver Sieg worked as an assistant to Prof Dr Otto Sandrock at the Institute for International Business Law of the University of Münster. In 1995 Oliver Sieg published his dissertation on "Lawyers' Professional Liability in International Cases". For this dissertation he was honoured with the faculty's Harry Westermann Award.

Oliver Sieg was admitted to the Düsseldorf Bar in 1995. Meanwhile, he heads a team of highly specialised insurance and reinsurance lawyers working for many national and international primary and reinsurance companies. Oliver Sieg acts as monitoring, defence or coverage counsel and is involved in product development. He also acts as defence attorney in national and international litigation and arbitration also with experience as arbitrator, both in insurance and liability cases. Oliver Sieg is specialised in financial lines insurance such as D&O, E&O, PI and FI. Another focus is international risk and reinsurance related work. Oliver Sieg is familiar with regulatory work.
Since 2001 Oliver Sieg has been a member of the German Lawyers' Association committee on insurance law. He has been appointed chairman of the Düsseldorf Bar's committee on insurance law. Oliver Sieg plays an active role in national and international seminars and conferences. He has published numerous papers on insurance and liability law-related subjects.
