Uttara Vaid, Chief Operating Officer – Aon Global Insurance Brokers

Ms Uttara Vaid has successfully completed her Bachelor of Commerce (Ist Class B.com.), Bachelor of Legal Literature (Ist Class LLB.) Fellowship of Insurance Institute of India (FIII.)  Fellowship of the Institute of Risk Management (U.K.) and has more than 20 years experience at very senior levels in the Indian Non-life Insurance Industry.

She is currently holding the position of Chief Operating Officer – Aon Global Insurance Brokers Ltd. since June 2008. Prior to that she has held various senior positions within the Indian insurance industry such as National Head – Corporate Accounts Practice in Tata AIG General Insurance Company Ltd., Regional Manager – AIU Casualty for the Mediterranean and South Asia Region comprising Israel, Greece, Cyprus, Malta, India, Pakistan Sri Lanka.

In the past she has also worked as Vice President -Tata AIG General Insurance Company in charge of both Casualty and Financial Lines for India and has been credited with creating a strong awareness for Liability Insurance in India. Her past employment with Tata AIG Risk Management Services (TARMS) has 13 years of rich consulting experience where her nature of duties included advising clients on loss minimisation, risk transfer, comprehensive insurance coverage for both operational and project covers, optimising the local insurance portfolio tendering legal advice on liability issues, commenting on legislation that affected industry on safety, health, environment and insurance aspects.
